JESUS, I KNOW. It’s horribly ugly looking (not that ffnet was ever pretty), the icons aren’t even properly scaled, and most of the icons are just userpics. ://// Really makes…whoops butting into this convo but i have got to agree it’s uglyyyyyy
ugh ff.net you had a good thing going with your MINIMALISM.
I really hate having it all…centered. with all that wasted space in the stories!! and i mean, I kinda like having that search bar but they didn’t need to change anything! the writer’s avatar + the whole fic information header is just so…obtrusive :l ugh.
Completely agree. The search bar is delightful, but they really should have kept everything flush left and the whole icon thing in the community forums. AND OH MY GOD I JUST OPENED A STORY WHYYYYYYY what are those ugly sidebars.
THEY KEY TO DESIGNING GOOD WEBSITES IS TO MAKE IT AS SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE WHILE MAINTAINING NECESSARY FUNCTIONS AND USER-FRIENDLINESS

Um so I’m watching Natsume Yuujinchou and I’m still not over the Natsume-Izaya voice actor connection (why couldn’t I just associate him with Tieria or something why is Izaya at the forefront of my mind always gah) and suddenly I really really really want a story where they bodyswap
and trade lives for a few months and Natsume winds up in the heart of Shinjuku, tangled up in the intersections of Izaya’s quadruple levels of scheming before he even really figures out where he is, surrounded on all sides by people the dude with his face has been making as miserable as possible or setting up for misery for years from the shadows, with no accountability ever
and he just. Fixes…all of that shit…he is a socially anxious lonely empath and awkwardsadearnest people person and he turns it all around and forges genuine connections with everyone he comes into contact with and becomes Namie and Kida and Saki and Celty and Shizuo’s bff for life
and meanwhile Izaya tries to do schemey shit in Natsume’s life, hey he’s still surrounded by humans right? No reason he can’t start over~, but Madara is like wow fuck no you are not going to fuck shit up because my charge is gonna come back and live a good life before I get the book from him and you are not ruining this for the kid I care so much about but pretend not to, step out of line and I’ll wolf out on you brother and I can smell bullshit a mile away so don’t even THINK of trying to pull one over on me or using the power of a book which doesn’t belong to you!! so Izaya just has to be bored the whole time he’s in Natsume’s body HE’S NOT EVEN ALLOWED TO FUCK WITH THE *YOUKAI* THEY’RE NOT EVEN HUMANS AND THEY’RE STILL OFF LIMITS WHAT *IS THIS* (he will never ever admit that it’s kind of really nice these pre-existing friendships he has to play-act out and doesn’t have the option to play god with, it’s kind of really nice having people who get comfort out of his company? he will never admit that though do you understand HE IS BORED. BORED IS WHAT HE IS.) and then they get switched back and Izaya gets home and comes up against the fact that this weird sad kid could do his life better than he can and he spins in his spinny chair and sobs into his hands
(but then tries meagerly to maintain his new relationships because I’m a sap and I believe they’d be hard to give up once he sees what they feel like) (and Natsume lives happy ever after back with all his old friends but visits Shinjuku once in a while to hang out with his new friends AND THE WORLD IS A HAPPIER FRIENDLIER PLACE, THANKS TAKASHI-KUN YOU’RE A REGULAR MADOKA!!!!!!!!! wow it just hit me why i’m so into this already hahahaha most beloved hero archetype ahhhhhhh!)
(i’m only on s1 ep 8 btw so if you’re like ok but tell me the specifics of how izaya interacts with natsume’s boyfriend well that’s why i’m not doing that) (this is such a bad post)
No, God, please do tag your stuff. Now that I’ve found this, I can’t get enough of your thoughts.
